For the years 2022 and 2023, as part of the Baden-Württemberg project “KLIMAfit,” we prepared a CO2 footprint for each year and established the data collection framework for this purpose. Once the project ended, we didn’t want the knowledge we’d gained to simply become obsolete, so we decided to use the EU’s Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (VSME) as the basis for future sustainability reports.
The VSME goes beyond the requirements of KLIMAfit because it also addresses the company’s social and ethical sustainability. In the spring, we prepared reports for the years 2024 (for reasons of continuity) and 2025 and submitted them to the German Sustainability Code (DNK) for a plausibility check. Both reports have now been reviewed and published. We are very pleased that the reports passed the review and were published, and we feel encouraged in our commitment to continue collecting data on our company’s sustainability. As a family-owned business, we take a long-term view, so the sustainability framework is a good fit for us because it reflects our values: long-standing customer and supplier relationships, a focus on employees, fairness in all relationships, and the conservation of resources.
